Health and Diet: Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners

Artificial sweeteners, also known as sugar substitutes have now become part of our daily diets but do we really know much about them and the effects they have on our body?

Some artificial sweeteners can raise blood sugar levels, it is important to know which type of artificial sweetener you are consuming. So which artificial sweeteners are safe?
Recently I have discovered Stevia tablets, a natural sweetener from a south American plant (Stevia Rebaudiana).

Stevia does not contain any harsh chemicals like some artificial sweeteners on the market, which may have a bad effect on your body.
Stevia has a negligible effect on blood glucose meaning it decreases your blood sugars so you don't get those highs and lows that sugar gives you.

Do you use artificial sweeteners? and if so which product do you use?
